Subject: NO identity or "-" but our definition

To Mike Perry:

You know, I hope, that I was speaking as a mathematician (PhD Chicago
in mathematics, 1979). You almost got it when you said that your
definition of equality (or of the sign '=') was syntactic alone.
And yes, I have stuck on this point because we need to be careful
that we don't change our definition in midstream when we try to
discuss whether we will or won't be the same after revival as we
were before.

However it's still important to remember that there is NO sense
of identity at all. We may apply the symbol "=" as an abbreviation
for the sense of equivalence we want to talk about.

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                Thomas Donaldson
