Subject: Stodolsky's rants again

Stodolsky says I missed the point when I suggested politics should be
bypassed on Cryonet. For him and those few others who really missed the point:

Anyone with even a tenuous connection to reality should realize several
things, I believe:

1. There are few cryonicists, and probably only a fraction of those read
Cryonet. This is very far from a bully pulpit for politics. If you have a

purpose (other than venting spleen or showing off your supposed cleverness)
there
are many much more appropriate venues.

2. If you air your politics on Cryonet, some sizable fraction of readers

will disagree with you. If they are cryonicists, this will tend to unravel any
sense of community. If they are browsers, this will tend to turn them off

cryonics. If browsers agree with your politics, that will not likely affect
their
feeling toward cryonics--that asymmetry is just the way the world

works--and in any case the quarrels will assure that some browsers are
repelled by
some posts, so the downside exceeds the upside.

Please--take your politics elsewhere.
