Veronica,

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Your email affected me and reminded
me of some of my own losses. My father passed away many years ago before I
became aware and involved in the cryonics/immortality movement. I am
reasonably sure that if he had lived a little longer, and had learned about
the options we do have to preserve our bodies after deanimation, he probably
wouldn't have been cremated. But unfortunately things don't always work out
the way we want them to.

If it's any solace to you, I do think you may one day see your son again.
There are several writers (Mike Perry as an example) who believe that
deceased individuals who have not been preserved through cryonics may still
be brought back to life. The arguments are long, and somewhat controversial,
but if you want I can get some further information for you. And if it is
physically possible, rest assured that there will be many people (hopefully
myself included) who will spend all of our immortal lives looking for a way
to bring these people back from non-existence. An immortal future is a right
that everyone is entitled to, and there are a number of us who will do
everything we can to try and make this right a reality.
