Subject: Solvents to facilitate perfusion?
References: <>

Has anybody ever thought of exploring the employment of the membrane
permeating abilities of the solvent DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) or its
derivative MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) to get vitrifying agents to perfuse
the brain tissue or any other tissue for that matter?

As both agents are approved for medical use in several counties, including
Canada, where Pennsaid, which uses MSM as solvent, was approved as

topical treatment in clinical trials for osteoarthritis, they are not very
likely
to cause much tissue damage.
