If he was referring to Best's surveys, I think there were adequate options 
for asserting oneself as "gnostic."  Pick just about any religion, or other 
spiritual philosophy, or a mere belief in "god" and you have "gnosticism," 
which basically claims to have some kind of spiritual knowledge regarding 
what materialists consider to be the unknowable.

But if one wishes to engage in semantics, one might better consider whether 
the simple word "cryonicist" might be better than the goofy affectation 
"cryonaut".
