X-Message-Number: 2812 Subject: CRYONICS Reply to Steve From: (Charles Platt) Date: Wed, 08 Jun 94 00:51:01 EDT I'm a little puzzled by Steve Bridge's response to my posting about group affiliations among the people who helped Alcor during the recent New York suspension. What I said (or what I thought I said) was that a) some people being identified as members of Alcor's "team" were, to the best of my knowledge, members of CryoCare; and b) in such a situation, I'm happy to say that we can expect this kind of cooperation to continue. Steve quibbles a bit with point a) (although I recall him being present at the last New York meeting where Curtis Henderson publicly proclaimed himself to be a member of CryoCare). Steve agrees with me on point b). This being so, I'm not quite sure where the dispute lies. In the past, we've been accustomed to thinking of an Alcor suspension team as being 100 percent Alcor. Therefore, I felt it was reasonable to point out that this time around, some CryoCare people were involved. When Alcor people choose to help with work done by BioPreservation, I think that's worth mentioning, too. So far, I have not seen any lack of cooperation at the membership level of the various groups. Steve says that "relations ... have been competitive and strained," but as any reader of CryoNet can see, there's a lot less strife now than there was before CryoCare came into being. In this sense CryoCare has helped to restore some much needed tranquility, and I hope it continues to serve that purpose. --Charles Platt ##################################################################### charles Platt / 9 Patchin Place / New York, NY 10011 / (212) 929 3983 / / fax: (212) 929 4467 Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=2812
