There is the answer as to why it is hard to get people to sign for cryonics.
Many would rather be annihilated than lose the company of family and friends
and find it too hard to persuade them to join them in signing for cryonics.

The 75% who would not sacrifice money will not sacrifice income to pay for
insurance or capital to prepay. So the "the premiums are only the same as
eating out every week" type of argument doesn't hold either. But still, that
does leave 25% who would sacrifice money, and 6% who would leave friends and
family. To what extent the 6% would leave right now (as Mark Plus and others
recommend moving to live near the facility) I am not sure. But if all left,
then it still leaves a lot more people than there are who are signed up.
This is even so if you consider only 25% of the 6% which is 1.5% - still a
lot of people - 840,000 in the UK alone.
