I posted this message a few days ago and it seems to have been lost in the
net. So here it is once more, belatedly.

In message #2855 Mike Darwin writes:

[perfusion procedure omitted]

Thank you for your comments, Mike. I do however already have written
instructions from Hugh and pretty much all that is required, except for a
blood pump. But I consider it a fall back position to do such a perfusion
and freezing locally rather than do a washout and then ship the patient to
the States for cryoprotective perfusion. My understanding is that the
carotids alone (with return via the jugulars) do not provide adequate
perfusion of the brain, in most people - that's why Alcor does open chest
surgery, to access the aorta.

Thanks also for pointing out additional circumstances that may make
shipment without cryoprotective perfusion and freezing problematic.

Long life,
Robert
