I wonder what effect $1 trillion would have if instead it was spent on 
developing and implementing alternatives to oil for transport, or for that 
matter encouraging alternatives to transport. That would have the added 
advantage of appeasing climate change predictions. At the moment the latter 
is an additional expense.

But still, what do you expect in a world where the overwhelming majority of 
people can't see the logic of cryonics :-)
