In 20-30 years, will people remember Ray Kurzweil and Aubrey de Grey as
failed futuristic visionaries, along the lines of Buckminster Fuller, Gerard
K. O'Neill, F.M. Esfandiary, Durk Pearson et al?

I have to wonder, because Robert Anton Wilson (more a consumer and
popularizer of 1970's futurism than an originator) drew attention to
scientists in the 1970's who sounded remarkably like Kurzweil and de Grey
about the imminent conquest of aging and death.
