Subject: Wikipedia Issue & Weirdo Issue

To Keith Henson: I read your post and looked carefully at the Wikipedia page
and its discussion, and tried to figure out how I could justify, in Wikipedia's
context, supporting your idea of identifying "transhumanists" who are also
"cryonicists". That might be appropriate for a discussion forum, but I found
myself agreeing with your apparent nemesis there that it is not appropriate for
an encyclopedic reference. What you are trying to do is inject a judgemental
issue that transhumanists ought by definition to be cryonicists, into that
medium. While you may be right, it is not necessary and readers will mindblock
it or discount the objectivity of Wikipedia. Out of a lot of respect I have for
you, I'm not posting this there, but I think you should let it go. Besides,
for some of us, it is already too much to see "superstars" bandied about on
Wikipedia.

Which brings me, To Unperson: I had a good chuckle out of what you put together
on observations about those superstars. While I think it is pretty obvious
that there are millions of the unwashed out there who could never have the
faintest understanding of transhumanism or cryonics, there are at the same time
plenty of underachieving, for example, grease monkeys who could certainly be
reached. Your points are mostly well taken, and I hope other readers here will
not misinterpret them as merely attacks on the "superstars". To me that was not
your point at all, and I doubt I am mistaken on that.
