The reason may well be that there is no suggestion in any scriptures that 
preservation of dead people is against the will of God. Indeed, anyone seeking 
guidance from the scriptures is likely to note that many religious founders had 
the "gift of healing", and indeed Christ healed the sick, restored people given 
up for dead, and told his followers to do the same. One religious fundamentalst 
on sci.cryonics some years ago said something to effect that it was his duty to 
have his kept body in the best possible condition so that Jesus had less work to
do on the Last Day.


Also many scriptures tell people that God will only help them if they help 
themselves. This lead the 19th century Christian philosopher NF Ferdorov to 
conclude that it is mankind's ultimate duty to raise all its dead using science.
