Something strange has been going on at Alcor for years and I can't quite put my
finger on it -- as to why Alcor can't keep good employees, and apparently not
even volunteer remote standby people .....

FD, I agree with your basic statement here. And you are finally being honest.
  I like that.

Here is my take on it: many or even most cryonicists are failures as human
beings. And I do not mean that in a purely negative sense. In some ways, we
are NOT human beings, but something better.

Homo sapiens are social animals. For a variety of reasons, many most have
trouble integrating into society. A lot of it probably has to do with
religion, and the fact that we live in a world of ideas, not people.

Alcor will likely never be a really successful entity as long as it is
operated by cryonicists. Humans form teams to accomplish goals. Cryonicists
are not team oriented, not people oriented. But right now, with cryonics being
stigmatized and our numbers being so small, we cannot afford to hire good NON
  cryos, just thieves and misfits.

That is why I keep harping on RELIGION. We need to integrate cryonics into the
mainstream religious cloth of america. Once we do that, all our problems are
over. THen NORMAL, team oriented, people oriented homo sapiens can build a REAL
cryonics community, not the pitiful thing we have now, which is inhabited by
homo sapiens rationalisticus cryonicus.
