Subject: AI & conspiracies

Regarding the alleged danger from inimical AIs, Kennita Watson has pointed

out that there will be many efforts to develop intelligent computers, and most
of them will be by people of at least average sense and good will, tending to
limit the capabilities of bad guys. But the safety factor goes beyond this.

This very complex frontier research, almost certainly, cannot be effectively
done by one person or even a small team. See e.g. the job offerings by

Powerset, or investigate the structure of Google and others. A substantial team
is
required, and for such a team to be collectively careless, let alone engaged
in a malign conspiracy, is difficult to envision. Somebody is going to blow
the whistle.
