"Oil on other planets" was purely there to support the suggestion that oil
is not a fossil fuel. It was not a suggestion as to where people may obtain
it. The idea that other planets could be a practical source of oil in the
near future is so daft that I didn't make that clear in my original article.
I credited cryonet readers with more sense, as I am still sure nearly all of
them do.

Once again, I suggest that Mark Plus researches and finds out what is needed
for people to get to live in the USA if he is serious about his ideas about
concentrating cryonicists in one place. I speculate that he already has and
have found it to be seriously difficult or even impossible in a large number
of cases, (ie most people except the rich and famous). This is why he has
not taken this approach. It is a lot easier to preach that the world is
about to end - at least in terms of cryopreservation in the USA for overseas
patients.

I consider concentrating cryonicists under one legislature very bad for the
movement as a whole. They could easily be wiped out by a politician's whim,
enforced by a gang of lawyers and policemen. Cryonics is an excellent news
media magnet, thus ideal for getting a lawyer's name in the public eye.
Facilities under other legislations could make this much more risky from a
political point of view, as other countries could use it in anti-American
propaganda. (Our nice country permits ie whereas nasty USA doesn't.)

In fact, considering the condition of the US economy and legal and political
systems, it could equally be suggested that the movement of cryonicists
ought to be the other way, although I cannot suggest a suitable destination.
I think some have considered Holland or Switzerland in view of the
possibilities of euthanasia laws being more favourable. However these could
easily change as some politician could make a carreer for himself by
outlawing cryopreservation there.

When you have to postulate the existence on oil on other planets to manage
your terror, John, you've really outdone yourself in the denial department.
