Despite our prior exchange, I appreciate the thoughtful post by Tim
Freeman.

I also highly respect that CryoNet archives the old posts reliably, and
provides various search methods into them.

Tim did not mention Cold Filter in his post, and I wanted to make one thing
clear about it that some folks may have a misconception about. Cold Filter
is a Network54 forum. Although the original idea to use Network54 forums
originated with Rick Potvin, Cold Filter definitely did not - it originated
with Jonathan Hinek, and Rick Potvin made such an annoyance of himself
earlier on that he is even banned from Cold Filter. Cold Filter's Network54
format is threaded discussion. Many conversations can go on at once, and it
is relatively easy to see the relationship between posts. In this way I
feel that for discussion, Cold Filter is superior to CryoNet in which any
discussion must necessarily be linear with unrelated posts in between.
CryoNet is traditionally "the" place for cryonics discussion and obviously
has hundreds of subscribers. It is therefore a great place to post
announcements, like Rudi did about the thing in Florida. It can be and has
been used for discussion by those who don't mind the linearity.
Announcements are also welcome on Cold Filter.

I might also mention that Cold Filter is reliably archived. Anyone who
wants to own the latest archive of it, in one download, should read the
information at: http://www.network54.com/Forum/291677/message/1190352597/

I do not care for the structure of the website utilized by alcorunited.org,
or the similar one used by reformalcor.org. Nonetheless, I feel there is
some value to reformalcor.org being a central repository of thoughtful posts
on the subject of Alcor's board of directors and changes thereto.

Tim and I do not agree about "redundant forums" which due to their
differences I do not think are redundant at all. "Multiple forums" would be
a preferable characterization. I do see Tim's point of how great it would
be to go only one place, but obviously many people don't mind and enjoy the
differences.

Thanks for listening,

FD
