Subject: Advertising Cryonics

My wife, Genevieve (G), has studied cryonics carefully but does not
want cryopreservation for herself, However I (H) asked her what we
should do to attract new members to the Cryonics Institute and Alcor.
The conversation went as follows:
   G: Advertise.
H: That's been tried without much success. Where should we advertise?
G: Advertise to doctors. They are the ones most interested in
extending lifespan.
H: You mean we should put ads in professional medical journals
like the Journal of the American Medical Association?
   G: Yes.
I think we should aim for a short statement, the shorter the better,
that says why cryonics has lifesaving potential and should be
regarded as a valid experimental procedure. Aside from the expense,
the main difficulty with this approach will be persuading mainstream
journals like JAMA and the New England Journal of Medicine to accept
the ad. Still, it seems worth trying.
