I am posting it to CryoNet because it would be useful to have an expert with a scientific background in this area give feedback on the following Brass freezing concept. You could send your reply directly to the Trumpet Players mailing list by sending e-mail to (preferred) or to me () and I will forward to the list. ] From: Miltenberger <> ] To: "Trumpet Players International Network List" <> ] Subject: Freezing Process ] Date: Fri, 9 Sep 94 6:03:15 CET ] Reply-To: ] ] To all, ] I was recently reading the Brasswind catalog and saw that they offer a ] freezing process for your instrument (brass). Cost for a trumpet was around ] $174, I believe. They slowly lower the temperature to -300 degrees F. The ad ] says this will take the stress out of your horn and allow more resonance, etc. ] Has anyone had this process done to his trumpet? Did it really change its ] characteristics? How about a scientific explanation? It seems a small price ] if it can really give you a new trumpet. Thanks for your responses. ] ] Ed Miltenberger ] US Army Band-Europe (Heidelberg) Thanks in advance, David Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=3093
