Your basic idea is one that I have long believed in, and I have never 
understood why it isn't more widely practised, or why the idea apparently 
isn't as obvious to other people as it is to me.

An example in the cryonics community already exists: A member of CI has 
purchased an apartment in Detroit (near the CI facility). He intends to live 
in the apartment himself eventually but is currently touring the US in a RV 
and has a tenant in the apartment. He has indicated that he would give 
preference to a CI member whenever it becomes vacant in the future.

I assume this is the sort of thing you mean?
