Brown Subject: Venturist Cryonics Festival (July 5-7) Date: 30 Apr 1991 Here is the text of an advertisement I received for the 1991 Venturist July Fourth Festival. Kevin Q. Brown ...att!whscad1!kqb Society for Venturism Annual July Fourth Festival The Third Annual July Fourth Festival will be held this year at the Mountain View Lodge in Wrightwood California. We hope this one will be as much fun as the last ones. All Cryonicists are invited to attend. The Festivals are open to all cryonicists/immortalists and are held to give persons in the cryonics/immortalist movement an opportunity to get together in an atmosphere of fellowship for exchange of philosophical ideas, outdoor exercise and fun. All persons interested in cryonics and immortalism are invited to attend. We promise this will be a stimulating weekend. Just a few of the topics of discussion are: What is the essence of personhood? Will cryonics work? When, if ever, will suspended persons be reanimated? Is it immoral to reject cryonics and allow oneself to die? What is the nature of reality? What is the nature of happiness and how can we sustain it into eternity? We hope you will be able to attend. (Registration information below.) Special Note There will be a regular Alcor monthly meeting at the Pizer's home on Sunday July 7 at 1:00 pm.
