Unfortunately to have any real benefit it would need to be discussed by people
knowledgeable in law and politics, and there are no people within the cryonics
movement qualified, and also willing, to give any meaningful ideas beyond a
simple one liner "its not possible". People in "the authority business" simply
are far too busy making money to give time to these sort of minority ideas.

It would take something quite exceptional to get authorities to take time to
consider cryonics seriously. The arguments seem plain enough to us, because
everyone on this list has taken the time, and indeed is taking the time by
reading it. But to someone whose only contact is possibly via entertainment and
fiction, and who refuses to give it any thought, cryonics seems ludicrous.

I recall that in 1957, the year of the Sputnik, the British Astronomer Royal
said "space travel is bunk".

It took the exceptional circumstances of the politics surrounding Cold War to
put a man on the moon 12 years later. Unfortunately a "cryonics race" never got
started, despite the atheism of Communism and the fact that Lenin had been
chemically preserved. Rattling the cage of the USSR via Radio Moscow produced a
result that mirrored the authorities' opinion in the West. These broadcasts
from the 1980s can be heard on
