Rudi, you left off one major idea.  For those in a cash position to do so, 
members may pre-pay their suspension funding.  In Alcor's case, the prepayment 
is treated as a "conditional donation" (NOT a charitable contribution, because 
the donor may recall it).  The funds are placed in a Certificate of Deposit and 
remain untouched until needed for the member's suspension.  If the member 
changes his mind and cancels the suspension arrangements, Alcor returns the 
funds, including accumulated interest, minus a small fee for the trouble.  But 
the funds are then completely out of the family's hands and control.


I assume that CI handles prepayments in a similar fashion.  Alcor has 20 or so 
prepaid suspension members,
