No, the "aside" wasn't threatening, it just contained the parenthical
"Alcor pay attention" in the midst of an example of how a supplier's action
could cause a business to fail, followed by a description of how deftly
Darwin handled such a crisis. The inevitable implication being that Alcor
was asleep at the wheel. Not quite subtle enough. If calling attention
to this sort of ploy makes me seem "hostile", then I guess I'll just have
to live with that, because its something I'll continue to do whenever I
have the time. The assertion that his remarks were meant to be "helpful"
is too disengenuous: a call or email to Hugh, Tanya or Steve would have
been the effective way to accomplish that goal.

Nope. I used the word "apologia", which my dictionary defines as, "a
writing in defense of actions or beliefs" as opposed to "apology" which
it defines as "an expression of regret for wrongdoing". Thus I stand by
that description of Darwin's post re CSNY. (Carefull use of language
allows one to be concise, and avoids the necessity of paragraphs like
this one.)

As for my opinions re CSNY, Saul, and Curtis:

CSNY was a failure, lives were lost, and that speaks for itself. That
said, I don't think CSNY operated in any way shape or form with pecuniary
intent or impure motives. The glorication of CSNY as a necessary learning
experience for the cyonics movement is absurd. The reasons for its collapse
had results that were as predictable as summer sunshine in Pheonix.

Curtis' opinion of himself is more relevant than mine (plus which I haven't
given him any thought). Darwin's description of his life, if accurate, needs
no futher comment.

Saul's only post on this subject wherein he announced that he will discuss
the matter only privately (yeah, right), but not on this public forum (where
reality checks are easy to come by) is typical.

I really have no desire to convince anyone else of my opinions on these
subjects which is why I hadn't said anything.
