In theory, freezing-drying could eliminate the
liquid state, with it's attendant technical
repair challenges.

Here, freeze-drying could also eliminate
the liquid state, provided only cryoprotectants
with either a high vapour pressure (methanol),
or a high melting point (glycerol) were used.
