Well, back in 1993 this is what Bill Gates had to say about Eric Drexler's book 
"Engines of Creation" which had quite a lot about Cryonics as well as 
Nanotechnology in it:

"Incredible book! Incredible book! It's about how the information revolution
and biotechnology in combination are just part of a trend, and
he extrapolates that trend somewhat in a very plausible way over
the next fifty to a hundred years."
