The rating system was an ad hoc approach to moderation that never really 
functioned, primarily because it wasn't used much.

The List could be continued in almost the same format by switching it over to a 
standard mailing list manager. The modern ones provide adequate controls for 
abusive behavior and require little work by the moderator. Quality would 
increase with such a switch


If Kevin isn't interested in moderating, then a moderation team could be set up.
I volunteer to help. CryoNet is just about the only open source of news and 
views available at this time on cryonics issues.
