Subject: CRYONICS: Ghost cryonics.

Some time ago, Will Dye written about this wife seeing cryonics as
"spooky". That could be the start of a great idea, so I present here the
theory of ghost cryonics.

Everyone know that: ghost are very cold, presumably the white
shroud is made from condensed water vapor. So I suggest to use a ghost as
refrigerating agent : The patient would be nearly instantaneously
congelated without possibility to form ice crystals. The objective is the
same as the one followed with high presure.

What we need is simply a ghost generator, there is a hint about how
to build it. Assume we start with a salt block, In a dry environment, this
one will flow at very slow speed, something as one or some micron per year.
At this velocity, even an object as big as a bacteria is a quantum system.
So, the salt block after some months is a collection of bacteria sized
quantum domains. Assume we have cut it into a cone with a tip no larger
than one quantum domain. If that tip is put into contact with another salt
block, the single quantum domain will "contaminate" all the second block
with its particular properties. The same system is used to form a single
crystal in a gas turbine blade. We have now a salt block with all its
quantum domain in phase, something as a laser-like quantum wave.

Now, we put some salt powder at the block large end, this form a
diffractive medium where the wave get a phase velocity far greather than
its group velocity in the block. That phase wave can now get out of the
salt block and wander in the high speed gas forming the air. The phase wave
carries no energy and so no information, it is simply a state of
space-time.

Now, in a closed physical system, nothing forbid the temperature to
drop, the only quantity unable to dwindle is the entropy or disorder.
Entropy can be defined as the logarithm of the number of states allowed for
a given bunch of particles or objects. That number of states expands in the
so called phase space, the simplest such space has six dimensions : three
for the ordinary space and three more for impulsion. In relativistic
situations, impulsion break down into an infinity of therm, each giving
three dimensions in the phase space. A phase speed quantum wave is just
such a relativistic impulsion domain, so it open up an infinity of new
dimensions in the entropy phase space. What remains in the original six
dimensions is negligible and so temperature (and presure) drop sharply.

In a large phase space, any wave function must becomes fully
randomized, for example the electron gas in a metal would lost all
symetries. In this case, iron for example would get a density 40 time
larger than what we know, Solid molecular hydrogen could turn to metallic
one (the lightest and stiffest metal yet predicted. Many applications
beyond cryonics would be possible.

If there was a way to produce a squeezed state of the wave, it
could have some directional properties. A group of atoms could for example
be squeezed into the shape of a given macro-molecule. In this way, all the
molecules of a given kind in a body could be built back at the same time in
a single operation. Life uses some 50 000 molecular shapes, if as much
squeezed states could be used, a frozen body could be cooked back to life.
Ghosts deserve more thinking than what they are given in horror movie.
