Spousal Approval Breaking social/family ties to those who oppose one's participation in cryonics may make sense in some cases, but not in all. The reason is obvious to anyone who actually has to face such a problem. One's family--parents, children, spouse and siblings--and friends are a very important support network. One cannot just walk away from these people without endangering one's security in very real and immediate ways--unless one has lots of assets, preferably liquid. The reason that most homeless bums end up that way is because they managed to encounter some emergency at some point in their lives when they lacked an adequate support network. Homeless bums generally cannot afford cryonics--or the best in medical care, for that matter. --alan Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=373
