CRYONICS SOCIETY OF CANADA POOL PARTY

On Saturday, July 20th the Cryonics Society of Canada had its
swimming pool party at the home of Bruce Waugh. It was a sweltering
day in Toronto that made the swimming pool feel super-good. Bruce
and his wife Nicki were excellent as host and hostess, providing a
barbecue & lots of hospitality above the call of duty.

19 people attended of which (including the New Yorkers) 7 were
suspension members (5 Alcor, 2 ACS). One person is in the sign-up
process with Alcor, and another claims to be ready to initiate the
process. It was a well-educated group and lots of serious conversation
occurred -- mostly about cryonics and life extension. With all that
dialogue, a few memes must have been shifted, although none of the
"interested persons" declared they had been convinced they should
sign-up.

This event was unstructured, so there was really no organized
attempt to "convince" anyone. It was a time to relax, play, share
stories and enjoy each other. Our host expressed interest in repeating
the event next summer, so it could become Toronto's answer to the
Turkey Roast.
