Subject: Sternberg article

Two previous questions were raised concerning an article written
by Hal Sternberg. Hal has been out of town; I just got his
response.

Michael Price asked

> Can you quantify how long an "extended period" is?

Based on muscle cell contractility after freezing and thawing,
and the literature on cell freezing, Hal believes that storage at
above -80 degrees C should be for no more than 72 hours.

Keith F. Lynch writes

> Maybe a high power HF transmitter/amplifier, like those use for
> ham radio, would work better?

That suggestion is very similar to the device they have been
working on. They are now developing other plans for its
completion.
