Subject: SCI. CRYONICS memory after thaw

Don Ashley (#4102) asks for references to reports of animals frozen and then
revived with memory retention.

Golden hamsters have been reported frozen to the extent that almost half the
water in the brain was ice, and behavior was normal after thawing. However, I
don't think any actual studies of specific memory retention were done. See
Audrey Smith, CURRENT TRENDS IN CRYOBIOLOGY, Plenum Press, 1970, and the
references therein.
