Bzzzzt, sorry.  That's one of the perks of being moderator.  First, it's
a longstanding usenet/e-mail tradition.  Second, it saves time for both
the moderator and the readers to have one note instead of two.  Third, it
saves bandwidth (although, a few K one way or the other is trivial).

True.  I am a fan of human experimentation, but try to tell the mundanes
that after folks like Mengele.

Personally, I like the directness of mailing lists for topics that I'm
interested in (and living is certainly one of them!).  A moderated usenet
group is no more "democratic" than a mailing list.  And I would humbly
suggest that an unmoderated group WOULD NOT be a good way to proceed.
