This has been pretty well debunked, in experiments where human students were taught these "languages" in a way similar to how the apes were, and when questioned said they had no linguistic understanding of what they were doing. Those TV "documentaries" were very selective in picking what looked like short meaningful phrases out of lengthy runs of word salad. > One of the most interesting experiments in suspended animation > research that I can conceive would be to train an ape ... and then > suspend that animal. The damage of interest mostly happens at temperatures well below freezing, and animals can't yet be revived after freezing to such temperatures. As for Omni magazine, are you aware of Alcor's Omni ad campaign in which they had a contest to give away a free suspension? I don't know how many new members Alcor got from that. Perhaps someone from Alcor can answer. But please don't assume that someone will either sign up within two years or not at all. It takes some of us a little longer.
