You may well be right.  As I said, I may have misunderstood: his English 
is not the best (though better than my Japanese), and we had already had 
a misunderstanding over "14" and "40" which took some minutes to 
untangle.

If we talk again, and he swears by 4'C, I'll ask for references and re-post.
