References: <3nekg3$> <3mrv5u$> <3n1vpb$> <3n98al$> Date: Tue, 2 May 1995 10:15:37 +0000 Message-ID: <> I think some of this thread has dribbled over into "Future technology panacea" or may be my system is at fault. However, an answer I make to people who say that money should be bequeathed rather than spent on cryonic suspension is to compare the cost with a world cruise. No one seems to object if elderly people take a world cruise in their retirement, which is a total consumption of money (unlike buying an object, eg a house, which can be left to heirs). [A couple having CI suspensions make the costs comparable, admittdedly with any of the other organisations the cruise would have to be a good one, but there are some available at that price.] Another even better comparison is between the costs of a cryonic suspension compared with various **ectomies or **otomies and fitting of prostheses performed to give a few months of poor quality life to cancer sufferers. The total costs are usually far higher than cryonics, but again these attract little approbium from those anticipating legacies, either for themselves or clients from whom they can attract fee income. -- Sincerely, **************************************** * Publisher of Longevity Report * John de Rivaz * Fractal Report * * details on request * **************************************** **** What is the point of life if it ends in death? **** Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=4348
