This is *exactly* the sort of thing that euthanasia opponents (and even some advocates) fear the most. Remember, most think that cryonics is a false hope, many think it is even possibly a scam. People are willing to tolerate people ending their lives early when they have no hope for anything but a slow death of misery and pain. And if they thought cryonics were a real hope, they might approve it also as an alternative to that slow death of misery and pain. But if they think it's a false hope -- and they do think that -- they will never tolerate somebody trading life for what they are sure is quackery. It sounds like the surest way to get the selling of cryonic procedures banned. -- Brad Templeton, publisher, ClariNet Communications Corp.
