O'Neal) Subject: FDA/libertarianism There have been a number of messages on this mailing list lately that dealt with libertarian idealism and, more recently, the role of the FDA. I do not object to such messages, but I would like to remind the posters that there are suspension members who are dedicated to cryonics and who are not libertarian and do not believe the FDA is the incarnation of evil. Some cryonicists might even go so far as to say that such extreme political and social views may turn off many people who are otherwise good candidates for membership. My intention is not to suggest that we limit debate, rather it is to point out to the readers of this list that cryonicists hold a variety of social and political opinions. Devotion to a particular political viewpoint is not a membership requirement. Micheal B. We need to see many points of view so that we do not become victims of "group think". - KQB ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=457
