Metzger) Subject: submission for cryonics: repeat of question about alcor's finances Hi all; A couple of weeks ago I asked if it was true that Alcor is heavily invested in US treasury securities and other instruments that might be subject to extreme instability in case of default on the US national debt or an equivalent action by the US federal government, such as the hyperinflation "solution" to the debt problem. Given the fact that the US government is rapidly approaching the point of no return on the debt, this is not an insignificant question. If anyone with an inside knowledge of Alcor's finances (preferably someone from Alcor itself) would care to answer, either in public or in private, I would appreciate it. Perry Metzger [ Perry, The Oct. 1991 issue of Cryonics magazine has an article by Ben Best titled "A Plea for Inflation-Proof Cryonic Financing". That issue also has a letter on the topic of inflation-proofing investments / suspension funds. These should begin to answer your questions. Also, if I recall correctly, more articles on this topic are planned for upcoming issues of Cryonics magazine. - KQB ] Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=477
