A somewhat tardy response to postings of 8 August re. uploading: depending on exactly how our memories are stored, repair need not necessarily occur at low temperatures. Right now there is a growing consensus, but still no absolute proof, that our memories are coded in the existence and character of synapses between our nerve cells. It should be relatively easy to preserve that. All other brain features are replaceable, even at the cellular level.
