I hope that Dr. Donaldson will offer a more reasoned reply than
"nonsense . . . not worth the time to refute" on the question of 
science fiction as cautionary tales. It's especially ironic to hear that
non-argument from a cryonicist, when so often the whole subject of
cryonics is dismissed as "nonsense . . . not worth the time to refute"
by professional know-nothings.
   Incidentally, Niven's victimized corpsicles were not raided for
their organs per se. The future in which they awoke could not (or chose
not to) salvage their bodies, but it could save their minds and
personalities. It used these minds as a source of highly experienced
workers with no civil rights. Just calling this scenario "nonsense"
doesn't make it so. One MUST NOT ever start a plan for the future with
the phrase "No one would ever want to . . . ."
