Subject: Growth In Cryonics

I agree with John Clark that cryonics can grow very fast.
I also think it *will* grow very fast, in part because it's grown
so slowly in the past. A common model for growth of new organizations and
new ideas is periods of slow growth interspersed with periods of decline
punctuated with occasional periods of fast growth until one of these
periods of fast growth explodes into *very* fast growth, which can either
turn into disaster or phenomenal success.
I think we are now in the early stages of the immortalist
revolution, that the next 50 years or so will be a very dangerous
transition period, and that, if we make it through that transition
period, things will get very much better *and* will be very much
different than things are today. I also think cryonics will be a very
important part of the revolution.
This may be the first revolution in which the older participants
are likely to be more radical in their actions than the younger ones. The
crush of time and impending death is *very* oppressive! And very
motivating! At least for me.
