X-Message-Number: 535 Subject: CRYONICS Security needs Date: Mon, 11 Nov 91 13:44:56 EST From: Do cryonics organizations have anything they need to keep secret other than the names of those members who want their identites kept secret? I'm aware that Alcor keeps some of their procedures secret so they can compete more effectively, but that doesn't seem incredibly important to me. If the identities of the closet cryonicists are the only important secrets, then worrying about secrecy is kind of pointless. One could discover who they are by simply stealing some mail when Alcor sends out bills. It seems to me that secrecy usually conceals some sort of sloppy behavior. I think organizations in general do not benefit from having much secrecy. Tim Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=535
