Charles Platt writes,

I believe, though I may be mistaken, that Doug was referring to the
article in which Mike Darwin called him a fool (rhymes with yule ...).
Of course, in light of the much larger shitfest that's going on, it's
kind of hard to get too excited about such usage.

As another correspondent mentioned, procmail is a great PD filter
program that is capable of making the substitutions that Doug asks
for. Doug could set this up as a general-purpose mail filter, so that
no email that he ever received could contain the words that bother him.
This would probably be a better solution than asking poor old Kevin
to wade through all the flames and noise just to pull out the odd
clean message ...

----

Now, as to the larger shitfest: I don't care about Dave's sleeping
arrangements. I don't care about Mike's ethics. I don't care about where
blame lies, and I don't care about who sent what memo to whom, or who
spilled the beans, or who might be liable, or for what.

What I care about is whether the tiny number of people involved in
running the tiny number of organisations devoted to cryonics can get
their shit together enough to stop squabbling and Do The Job. So my
advice to the pack of you, and ESPECIALLY Darwin, Cosenza and Platt, is
*Shut The Fuck Up* and *Get On With The Job*.

Don't answer those accusations. Don't return those flames. Don't plan
that revenge. Don't snipe, don't hint, don't blame. Just *Shut The Fuck
Up* and *Get On With The Job*.

Followups directed, via procmail, to /dev/null.

Peter Merel.
