Subject: a cryonics politician?

In the recent elections in Belgium, a number of small political
parties captured quite a few seats in the legislature from the major
parties. The Flemish Nationalist party (of the north) now holds 12
seats, the Green Party (mostly in the south) now holds 10 seats, and
the party (name?) of Van Rossem (a former Formula One racing driver
who is an idol of many Belgian yuppies) holds 3 seats. The following
paragraph is from page 6 of the Nov.29-Dec.1, 1991 issue of THE
EUROPEAN newspaper:

"The party of Jean-Pierre van Rossem, a wealthy ex-hippy and
former anarchist, gained three seats even though he was in jail on
a fraud charge at the time of the poll. Van Rossem, who was released
on Tuesday, keeps his dead wife in a refrigerated grave -- a fate
that was apparently stipulated in her will."

This is the first instance I've heard-of of a political leader
anywhere having any connection to anything like cryonics.
