X-Message-Number: 5796 Date: Thu, 22 Feb 1996 23:12:18 -0500 From: "Keith F. Lynch" <> Subject: Name change A certain prominent cryobiologist did not like the fact that web search programs such as Alta Vista and WebCrawler were finding his name in my web archives of cryonet (http://www.access.digex.net/~kfl/ les/cryonet/), since there is still a lot of prejudice against us in the cryobiology community. To prevent web search programs from finding his name, without doing wholesale destructive edits of the archives, I have decided, in consultation with him, to replace the first vowel in his last name with a *. I have done this everywhere in my archives that his name appears, and will continue to make the change for any new messages which mention his name. This is the only change I make to archived messages, other than eliminating invisible trailing blanks and tabs, extraneous blank lines, and extraneous header lines. -- Keith Lynch, http://www.access.digex.net/~kfl/ Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=5796
