Pichugin, Zhegunov, and their colleagues for this important work, and also thank the Cryonics Institute for sponsoring it. The recovery of electrical activity in brain slices after freezing to -196'C is an extremely important result. It is a result that may even allow legal argument that cryonics patients are alive by *current* medical criteria! I agree with Dr. Pichugin that cryopreservation of the whole body is an extremely difficult problem that will not be solved for a very long time (decades at least). In the meantime we should continue improving brain preservation technology, as he and his colleagues plan to do. *************************************************************************** Brian Wowk CryoCare Foundation 1-800-TOP-CARE President Your Gateway to the Future http://www.cryocare.org/cryocare/ Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=5889
