Bacteria are INCREDIBLY resiliant, and many species are capable of
surviving freezing naturlaly without any difficulty. In fact, bacteria
are often shipped freeze-dried to save weight and maximise storability
while minimizing the risk of contamination.

Insects are highly variable in their response to freezing, with some
adapted to it as part of their life cycle. A much more important
question is how are the rabbit experiments going, which is quite well.
We will, I'm quite certain, have operational organ-level vitrification to
LN2 temepratures within 1 year of the colaberation between the two
scientists who have the skill and technology to complete the work (as has
already been done to -40C). The question that arises then is how uniform
will the procedure be across organs and tissues? If a single protocol
can be used on all tissues and organs, then reversible vitrification of
whole organisms becomes a possibility in the immediate future.
