Actually, I believe that your name wasn't mentioned at all by Brian Wowk
- all he said was that people would have too much trouble guessing which
Alcor insider would post such an extreme and unethical attack on him.
Now my first guess would have been that it was someone trying to make
trouble for you - maybe even Brian himself. But the fact that you're
so defensive about it has kind of changed my mind about that ...

Where's Scooby and Shaggy when we could really use them? :-)

And now for something constructive. As some folks here may know, the NSW
government is proposing the most horrific net-censorship legislation
in the world. Makes the CDA look like a Lenny Bruce routine. If I've
been kinda quiet here lately it's because I've been busy campaigning
against this nightmare.

So, if you're in Sydney on May 27, or if you know someone who will be,
then please get them or yourself along to Hyde Park at 12 noon. We're
going to have a rally there for an hour, and then go for a march along
Macquarie street to parliament house, where we will have a mass
tying-of-blue-ribbons-to-the-gate.

Why take such a risk of having a policeman fracture one's delicate
skull? Well, what kind of world do you want to wake up in?

One more thing. People may recall some debates over terms for suspendees
and so forth - it was one of the earliest topics on cryonet, and it was
briefly revived during the Sharman episode. I was reading Julian May's
latest, "Magnificat", and she refers to suspendees as "people who have
been switched off". I rather like that. Rather than "dead", they were
"shutdown, being repaired". I think this could be a useful metaphor -
has anyone tried using it?
