              From: (Thomas Donaldson)
              Subject: To Mr. Galvagno, Jr.
              Date: Sat, 8 Jun 1996 14:56:41 -0700 (PDT)

First, I will point out to Mr. Galvagno and others my article on
Cryonics and Religion ("Frozen Souls: Can a religious person choose
cryonics?") from the 2nd Quarter, 1995 issue of *Cryonics* magazine. I
conclude that cryonics fits within the religious tradition at least of
Catholicism and Judaism, and probably many other religions.

The article was also posted on Cryonet but I don't know the message
number offhand.

     Then to Thomas:

>Finally, with "chiliastic" I was merely using an English word: "chiliad"
>means a group of 1000 or a period of 1000 years; "chiliasm" is the
>doctrine that Christ will return to Earth to rule for 1000 years.

So maybe it would be more appropriate to refer to cryonics as
"chilly-astic." Or considering the darkly humorous motto, "Freeze your
head to save your ass," perhaps that should be spelled "chilly-ass-tic."

:-)
