X-Message-Number: 6553 Date: 18 Jul 96 04:31:12 EDT From: Paul Wakfer <> Subject: Prometheus Project - Latest Total The Prometheus Project: Convincingly demonstrated, scientifically proven and published, fully reversible brain cryopreservation within 10 years. Latest Pledge Totals As of midnight EDT July 17, 1996, the total of pledges is $148,000.00 per year for each of 10 years. A $1,000.00 per year pledge was received by private email from Leonard Zubkoff who also made some good suggestions which will be addressed in a separate post. The other $1,000.00 increase has actually been there for several days already. Somehow (and this is embarrassing for a former professor of mathematics) I made a mistake in Yvan Bozzonetti's pledge. It was $2,000.00 per year not the $1K which was announced and included in the total earlier. My thanks to Keith Lynch for pointing this out to me. And more thanks go to Yvan for being the first on the Net to pledge over the minimum. Yvan, you've often been given a hard time over some of your "wild" posts, but *no one* can now say that you're not sincere, and that when its something important, you don't come through. You've earned a lot of respect here which will apply to any post which you make in future. Pledge totals in each category are now: 10 for $10,000.00 per year for 10 years, 5 for $5,000.00 per year for 10 years, 1 for $4,000.00 per year for 10 years, 1 for $3,000.00 per year for 10 years, 2 for $2,000.00 per year for 10 years, 12 for $1,000.00 per year for 10 years. The 31 pledges total $1,480,000.00 over all ten years. It really would be nice to see some more people pledging in the $5K to $10K range. I *know* that lots of you are making well over $50K per year and should be able to afford that. Isn't a much improved chance at hundreds of years of extra life worth that to you? My good friend Mark Connaughton hasn't even been making any income for the last two years while he worked in cryonics, and he's only now starting back at full time work with a few debts to be paid off. But he pledged $5,000.00 per year because he figured that he would be able to start making such payments by the end of next year. He's a MIT graduate engineer, Jerry Leaf's brother in-law, very knowledgeable about the problems of cryonics, and certainly no gullible dummy. *He* knows what's best to save his life when he sees it. Why don't you? -- Paul -- !!!!! REVERSIBLE BRAIN CRYOPRESERVATION *CAN* BE ACHIEVED IN 10 YEARS !!!!!
